About The Original Flute Bag
My flute journey began when I first heard the Native American flute while canoeing with my older brother. Someone that was fortunate enough to live on the river was playing R. Carlos Nakai and the music floated from the stereo speakers out over the river. I didn't immediately run out and buy a flute, but I did start listening to Native American flute music. Several years later, as a birthday gift from my loving wife, I received my first flute. With the first notes that came from that gift I was hooked ... and soon bought a second flute. Somewhere around the 4th or 5th flute, I thought that the flutes must have a case or cover to protect them from getting scratched and dinged. I searched the web and found either very expensive hard cases or only thin sleeves. So, being resourceful, I asked my 87 year-old mother to help me learn how to use her old 1966 sewing machine and 'The Original Flute Bag' came into being.
The Original Flute Bag is constructed of two layers of moisture-wicking, ding-preventing, fleece protection. The outside layer is adorned with a beautiful print, and the inside protective layer is a complementary color. The bag is designed so that your flute slides into the top, with plenty of room for the fetish and decorations. An inside flap folds over the mouthpiece and a second outer flap closes, adding yet another layer of protection for the fetish. The bag is then secured with an attached ribbon.
Each Original Flute Bag is handmade, one at a time. My wife, Melissa, jokingly shows friends my 'sewing factory' that has taken over the garage. The bags are made in a huge variety of patterns and colors and can be ordered for ANY length flute.
